Engine no. 63697 propelling a mineral train off the colliery branch. The engine had just left the colliery and was in the process of "setting back" (reversing) its train of full waggons (into Thoresby Colliery Sidings?). Note the guard silhouetted standing on the back of the brake van, keeping a look-out to help the engine driver who was unable to see where he was going.
