The level crossing on Hoveringham Lane, west of the station - seen on the left from the north. The gates are being opened by Mr. T. Hickman, crossing keeper, for the passage of a train in to Lincoln and intermediate stations. They are still hand-operating. `in the centre background are the Hoveringham gravel Company's Works. In the right background are the Trent Hills.
