Fox Wood was the site of Iron-Age Settlement, see NCCG000069. Tree species include sycamore, ash, holly, hawthorn, oak, lime and elderberry. The woods are also home to a variety of birds such as great spotted woodpecker, tawny owl, jay, bullfinch, long tailed tit, tree creeper and jackdaw as well as voles and frogs.
