St Mary's Church looking north east from a field adjoining Arnoldgrove. The cottages in the background are in Church Lane; they were later replaced by modern dwellings. The field too was redeveloped for housing and the photographer would today be standing in Allen's Walk. The now demolished Victorian vicarage can just be seen to the left of and behind the church.
