Looking north with Esso and Gulf petrol filling stations to either side of the road (4-Star petrol is advertised at 82p per gallon). There was formerly a girder bridge at this point carrying the Great Northern Railway's Derbyshire Extension line with Daybrook station being located to the right (closed 1960 for passengers and 1964 for goods).
