Front Street
Arnold
England

Occupied by Lord Moira who entertained the exiled Dauphin of France here in 1815. The Prince Regent who later became King George VI, also came here frequently during the hunting season. The house was demolished in 1978 and became part of Fine Fare. Before the house was demolished it was occupied for many years by Dr John Francis, his wife Marion and their three children David, Ann and Hazel and the annexe to the right hand side was used as the doctors surgery. When the doctors left and moved into what had been the Butchers Arms pub next door, it was used by Mr and Mrs Webber as their stationery wholesale business. They had a huge great-dane by the name of Bella. The hardware business T & TP Turner was next door (113 Front St.).
