Ye Olde Salutation Inn on Hounds Gate and Maid Marian Way has looked roughly the same for the past 500 years. The rear of the building is 15th Century and has a timber roof. It was used by members of the court of Edward III, and also as a recruitment office for the army of Charles I when he raised his standard in Nottingham at the start of the Civil War.
