The Lace Hall, formerly High Pavement Chapel. The Chapel was founded by Presbyterian's in 1691. Enlarged in 1802 (by which time it had turned Unitarian) and finally rebuilt in 1875. High Pavement School was founded in 1788 and in 1805 new school rooms were built at the back of the Chapel. In 1895 the school was moved to new premises on Stanley Road in Forest Fields. In 1983 the Chapel was bought by the City Council with the idea of turning it into a Lace Market Centre but the cost proved prohibitive. The council now lease the building and with a mixture of private capital and a council loan renovated it and converted it into an exhibition centre. This tells the story of Nottingham Lace with videos, talking figures and working lace machines plus a lace shop. The stained glass windows in the Chapel have been restored.
