Newark Castle railway station
Newark on Trent
England
The disused main building at Newark Castle station, seen from the platform side. By 1983 the station was unstaffed and the building spent many years boarded up before being restored. Looking south-east. In 1846 the Midland Railway's Nottingham-Lincoln line was the first railway to reach Newark and this building dates from the opening, although the awning seen here was a later replacement.
