Newark Castle railway station
Newark on Trent
England
A close-up of the southern elevation of the disused goods warehouse at Newark Castle station, looking north-east and showing the entrance door used to admit railway wagons. In 1846 the Midland Railway's Nottingham-Lincoln line was the first railway to reach Newark, although this building was erected later. At the date of this photograph the entire goods yard at Newark Castle was derelict but the site was later redeveloped and the goods warehouse was converted into apartments.
