Trent Bridge
Nottingham, Trent Bridge
England
On the left hand side is the shield of William the Conqueror who instigated the initial construction of Nottingham Castle. The shield is suspended from the Conqueror's sword. The shield on the right is the Coat of Arms belonging to King John. Probably no other English sovereign spent as much time in Nottingham and the forests of Notts or crossed the old bridge as often.
