Sited at the edge of Thoresby Park, Perlethorpe contains the church of St John which is the chapel for Thoresby Hall. It was designed by Salvin and built in 1876 on the completion of the hall. With its battlements and spire it resembles the many 14th century churches in the county but the interior is very light and spacious with fine examples of both wood and stone Victorian carving.
