Station Road
Mansfield
England
By 1985 only the main building remained of the Midland Railway's onetime Mansfield Town station, which had closed to passenger traffic on withdrawal of the Nottingham-Worksop service in 1964. The once extensive goods yard in the foreground had been redeveloped for retail use. However, with the advent of the Robin Hood Line project and a reinstated passenger service, the station was rebuilt and reopened in 1995. Prior to this Mansfield was said to be the largest town in England not to have a direct rail service.
