A photograph taken from the Silver Jubilee Booklet produced for the Silver Jubilee celebrations of George V. George, the second son of Edward VII and Alexandra of Denmark, was born at Marlborough House on 3rd June, 1865. He was crowned king in 1910, and reigned throughout the First World War. George V died of influenza on 20th January, 1936, a year after his Silver Jubilee.
