Taken from the Silver Jubilee Souvenir Booklet. The photograph shows the Victorian Town Hall. (A Georgian Town Hall was erected in 1756 which replaced the old Moot Hall, which stood upon the same ground as the present one, was erected in 1389, and pulled down in 1754.) The Victorian building was built in 1866-8 by Bellamy and Hardy of Lincoln in a french style. The War Memorial forms a centrepiece to the Market Square.
