W J Jenkins was founded in 1896. They were constructing Gas making plant and making and repairing flour mill machinery. The firm became a subsidiary of Woodall-Duckham Group in the 1970's and are now part of Jenkins Newell Dunford Group Ltd. The machinery was used in the handling of coal.
