This photo is of the Hop Pole Public House and part of the old road (A620) which is actually Welham Road, Retford. It shows the development of the new road. The view is taken looking towards Retford and the Hop Pole public house. The old road is now used as a lay-by and as access to the pub car park. The lay-by is also used by over-sized lorries unable to get under the railway bridge on the A620 to turn around - (info kindly supplied by GM Raynor).
