Built in the 15th century the church was restored in 1882 & 1886 and repaired in 1894 after being struck by lightning. Misson parish lies south and of Finningley and on the north side of the river Idle. On the west lies South Yorkshire; the east, Lincolnshire; and the south, Nottinghamshire.
