Crew Yard at the junction of College Street and Straw's Lane, described at the time this photo was taken as 'almost unchanged'. These buildings have since been renovated as dwellings with the yard area seen here infilled to form a driveway. Can anyone explain the purpose of the stone-lined pond or tank in the centre?
