Showing the fire station and (what was then) the library. The row of lime trees led up to Stapleford Hall, built in 1789 and demolished in 1935 and was home to Sir John Borlase Warren (Warren Avenue was named after him) . The house behind the girl in the foreground is now a dentist's surgery. The origin of the photograph is not known.
