Main Street
East Leake
England
Looking west along Main Street from its junction with the road to Gotham. This photograph is a copy of a 'Rexatone' sepia postcard of 1920, originally owned by Mr C Firth of East Leake. On the right of the photograph is the Primitive Methodist Chapel, built in 1827, which is today used for industrial purposes, and to opposite that is the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, still in use today. The chapel has now lost its railings, which were removed to make armaments during the Second World War. The tall twin house in the background was the original Manor House for the village and is now the General Store and Post Office. The house next door to that has now been replaced with the Police Station.
