The interior of the factory on Gotham lane (now Gotham Road), showing workers making various wicker products including chairs, baskets, moses baskets, etc. The factory was situated at the rear of what are now shops (formerly houses) on the west side of Gotham Road. Christopher Henry Mills was the proprieter at the time this was drawn. Beehive Wickerworks closed down in 1956, due to loss of business as the industry dwindled. The last proprieter was Christopher William Mills, the eldest son of nine children.
