The Chambers Pencil Factory visible behind these trees was demolished in the 1970's and relocated to Sandiacre. In 1991 Chambers Pencils branch of Cosmetic Pencils were brought out and produced under the new name LYRA U.K.LTD. Chambers Pencils have been in the forefront of pencil manufacture since 1915 and remained a family business, stretching over four generations, and now manufacture their products in Acton Road, Long Eaton, latterly specialising in souvenir pencils.
