Showing the old approach road and stone parapets on the north side of Trent Lane, looking north. In the background is the former toll house. A wrought iron traverse was opened in 1875 and demolished after the opening of the present Gunthorpe Bridge in November 1927. The new bridge was built 433 yards upstream from the old one.
