Looking towards Beeston, on Chilwell High Road, near the junction with Hallams Lane - Clarkes Lane. On the other side of Clarkes Lane (just visible), was a field with iron railings around it and inside this field was the walled garden of Chilwell Manor. You can just see the high wall that was part of Chilwell Hall (demolished by 1951). Directly opposite the Clarkes Lane junction now is Hall Drive (built after this picture was taken).
