Located where W H Smith's is today, and was previously the location of the cinema (see NCCS000991). Fred Hallam's greengrocers and fishmongers shop can just be seen on the left. The area beyond Fine Fare, here showing trees, is now Dorothy Perkins and Boots stores. The shops with the gables are still there today, and beyond those is the old Co-operative Supermarket, now demolished and replaced by a Macdonald's Burger franchise. The road has now been pedestrianised.
