This view was taken from the North East, showing the rear of the building. The garden on the South and West share a common boundary with the churchyard. The Hermitage was once the home of Sir Henry Bentinck, MP and colliery owner. It has since been used for a variety of communal purposes, such as a pre-school playgroup. In this picture, senior citizens can be seen going to their 'Derby and Joan' club meeting. St Peter's parish church is shown on the left.
