The inscription says ' Here lieth the body of Richard Deacock who was truly valuable as well for his sober regular and quiet behaviour as for his faithfulnes (sic) care and diligence in the services he was honoured with. He departed this life the 25 day of November 1734 aged XXXVIII (68) years.'
