This view shows the entrance to the stables and coach-houses from the rear drive. This was for pedestrians and horses only. The entrance is surmounted by a Dovecote, inhabited by white doves. On either side are stables, used as garages. The house was built in 1873 for Walter Tindsley, a lace manufacturer, and sold to Nottinghamshire County Council Education Department by a Mrs Ward, the last owner, in 1930. From then until 1976 it was used as a school, with boarding facilities, for children with special needs. After this it was left vacant for a time.
