Sylvester Terrace off Watnall Road
Hucknall
England
The following is taken from http://www.hucknall-torkard.com/travelintro.html John Tudbury (at the reins) is pictured with his son William. John began his cab firm in the 1890s from a rented house and nearby buildings on Lambert Hill, then as the business grew moved to larger premises at Padley Hall, 32 Sylvester Street. By 1898 he was trading as 'John Tudbury-Cab Proprietor: Landaus, Brakes, Broughams, Wagonettes, Shillibeers, Mourning Coaches with special attention being paid to Wedding Parties'. The photo was taken on Sylvester Street, which was on the south side of Watnall Road, in about the year 1898. On the left joining Sylvester Street is Sylvester Terrace and at the end of Sylvester Street, beyond the carriage, is a glimpse of Orchard Street. Facts provided by Jenny Tudbury
