The school opened in 1913 but at some date before 1950 had been superseded by a newer building in a more central part of the village. The picture shows the exterior fronting Farnsfield Road. Gillian Laycock adds: 'The building is now brick clad. The white bungalow to the left of it was the headmaster's house. The headmaster used to live next door to the pupils in his private bungalow in later life.'
