View from Quarry Lane. The site of Greenhalgh's Mill, demolished in 1924 (on right). Built as Hancock and Wakefield's in 1792, then occupied by Greenhalgh's between 1895 and 1900. From the 1900's it was occupied by Royce, Gascoigne & Co., boot and shoe manufacturers. Had a waterwheel 40ft in diameter.
