The Nottingham and Notts. Joint Bank Stock was on the left hand corner by 1895. It was taken over by the London and Midland Bank, which was restyled the Midland Bank in 1923. The road was widened from the right-hand corner back as far as the entry to Dragon Court in about 1904.
