Congregational church, later the United Reform Church in the background. Designed by Watson Fothergill. Opened in 1878, demolished in November 1972. Mansfield's first tramline ran through West Gate in 1905, linking Nottingham Road with Pleasley. The house in the centre of the picture was built between 1790 and 1810.
