Part of the house was Elizabethan and showed traces of mouldings and mullioned windows. Its rooms were oak beamed and the cellars in the older part had natural rock floors. At one time the house had 3 wells. In the 1850's the Misses Jane and Susannah Parsons had a school there. The premises were vacated in 1970 and were demolished in 1973.
