The staff of the local school, taken outside the buildings. At this time the school catered for boys and girls from 5-14 years old. Back Row left to right:Mr Wardle, Mr Abbott, Mr Cox (Headmaster), Mr Hamby, ?, Mrs Peck. Front row: ?, Joan Bray, Mrs Johnson, Miss Wardle (Mr Wardle's sister), Miss Brown, Lily Scott. Mr Spolton moved to Mowlands Secondary School and Miss Spolton went to Sherwood Hall School for Girls. Mr Wardle went on to teach at Mowlands Secondary School, Kirkby.
