Newstead Abbey
England
Sunday afternoon at Newstead Abbey. The abbey was founded between 1163 and 1173 by Henry II as a priory of Augustinian Canons. After the Dissolution, Henry VIII sold the abbey to the Byron Family, and it later passed to the Webb's in the Victorian period. In 1931 Sir Julien Cahn, the then owner, presented the abbey to the City of Nottingham.
