The interior of the winding engine house, showing (left to right), Mr Cooper, Mr Wallwork, Mr Webster, ? and Mr Tagg. Teversal Colliery (also known as Butcherwood) was sunk by John and George Crompton in 1867. The business was later known as the Stanton Ironworks Company. It is famous for having one of the shallowest shafts in Nottinghamshire, and closed in 1980.
