The ruins of Skegby Manor House, Skegby

Skegby
England

The old Manor House (understood to have been converted into flats a few years ago), built in 1207 by Spigurnel family, and altered later in the 13th century. Godfrey Spigurnal became Lord of the Manor of Skegby in 1223. His descendants held the estate until 1334 when Elizabeth Spigurnal disposed of it to Richard Pensax. His descendant passed it to Percival Lindley in 1450 which was the beginning of the three hundred year tenure of the Lindley family as Lords of the Manor. The Lindley Family also built Skegby Hall on Mansfield Road, which is now a community home.
