Showing the Denman's Head Public House on the corner of Low Street and the Market Place. The Denman's Head Hotel at the corner of Low street was built in c 1750, and was once called the King's Head. Its name was changed in 1820 because the landlord of the time greatly admired Lord Chief Justice Denman's defence of Queen Caroline at her trial. Market Stalls can be seen in the background.
