This picture shows engines 44819 and 92072 in Annesley shed yard. The engine in the foreground (92072) is a British Railways Standard Class '9F'. The following is an exract from Mr John A. Thickitt (a web-site user who remembers these yards..'During summer 1964, on a number of occasions an Annesley-based '9F' travelled along the Worksop (Notts.) to Sheffield line. The engine was always running 'light' (i.e. without a train) dashing westwards in the afternoon. The last observation here of an Annesley 9F came at the end of that summer: engine 92090 arrived at Waleswood Junction (Yorks.) from the south via Waleswood Curve. The purpose of the visit was to change crew, after which the engine moved-off back along the branch line. (Whilst the fireman stayed with the engine - this was for safety reasons - the driver came into the signal-box. Looking across at the 9F hissing away to itself, he indicated his preference for diesels, was looking forward to the finish of his steam locomotive driving).'
