Sutton in Ashfield
England
The now demolished Old Trooper Inn(Mansfield Ales) was one of the three in Sutton in 1675, although the building seen here was clearly a much later incarnation of the hostelry. This view is looking south-east with Club Street to the right. The locality was subsequently given over to the town's new bus station and library. Picture the Past website contributor Philip W Pollard adds: 'The date of this photograph is after 1963. I lived at this pub until then at which time there was a row of terraced houses to the left.'
