This view shows the Old Blue Bell Inn, the proprietor at the time being George Marshall. In 1846 on Saturday evenings the Bright Eyed Club met at the Old Blue Bell, where the Reverend W Goodacre would read the news from the weekly newspaper, mainly for those who were unable to read themselves.
