River Trent, Fiskerton Wharf
Fiskerton
England

Located between the Gunthorpe Bridge and Newark, three miles south-east of Southwell, on the north bank of the Trent, opposite Stoke. It had a ferry, several coal wharfs and warehouses and would have been a loading place for grain and coal barges on the river. It had a lace thread factory, which in 1837 was converted into a corn mill; it also had a boot black factory. The 3 storey building seen here is now the Bromley Arms public house. On the left are malt houses.
