Class B1 4-6-0 61004 'Oryx' arriving at Sutton-in-Ashfield Town station with the 1.25pm Shirebrook North-Nottingham Victoria train. This was presumably a summer-only connecting working or would form part of an onwards excursion to one of the East Coast resorts such as Skegness or Mablethorpe, as regular passenger services had beem withdrawn from Sutton in Ashfield Town station in 1931 (with a brief and unsuccessful revival during 1956). Originally constructed by the Great Northern Railway and located on its Leen Valley Extension line from Kirkby South Junction to Langwith Junction/Shirebrook North, the Town station was one of four serving Sutton.
