Newboundmill Lane
Pleasley
England

Also called Robin Hood's Cross. 17th century documents refer to this name for the edifice near Pleasley Mill, and may be referring to this cross stump which still stands in the village. The cross was erected soon after Thomas Bek, Lord of the manor, was granted a charter on the 9th of May 1284 by the King to hold a market and two fairs in Pleasley. The market was for 'fat and lean cattle standing in front of the church', sheep were sold at the cross and horses in Teversal Road.
