This is probably the whitsuntide walk round in Skegby. Note that they have an organ on the cart. The lady to the left is Olive Kirk b.1894, one of a large family who lived at one time in a stone cottage on Forest Road, demolished in recent years and replaced by the new buildings close to Milner Street. The man on the cart to the left in the picture is possibly Matthew Pickard who became a local methodist preacher. He married Clara Kirk, sister of Olive and they had 11 children, the last survivor being Bob who lived on Eastfield Side and who for many years worked at Remploy in Mansfield. He never married.
