British Railways Standard Class 5 (sometimes known as a BR5) 4-6-0 No 73010 passing New Hucknall Sidings en route to Annesley Motive Power Depot. View looking north. New Hucknall Sidings was located on the ex-Great Central Railway main line between Nottingham and Sheffield and was the junction for mineral branches serving New Hucknall and South Normanton Collieries. The signal box seen to the left of the locomotive was a relatively new British Railways replacement for an earlier structure. After closure of the GCR main line in 1966 it is reputed to have been dismantled and re-used at Stanton Gate on the ex-Midland Railway Erewash Valley route.
