Train station on the Nottingham Suburban Railway Line. The station looks well kept and there are still notices on the boards which may indicate that the photo was taken around the time passenger services were suspended in 1916. The line of wagons on the right are for Mapperley Library brick works which was accessed via a steep rope worked incline. The yard running along by the left hand siding was used by Simms Sons and Cook for unloading consignments of timber.
