St John the Baptist was built in the 13th Century, it was located next to Colwick Hall and contains some ancient monuments of the Byrons and the Musters. It was repaired, and the chancel rebuilt, by Sir John Musters in 1684. A handsome monument was erected to Sophia Catherine Musters, who died in 1819. She painted the large window at the east end of the chancel. The church was closed in 1936 and now stands in ruins.
